Acoustic detection of neutrons by bubble detectors

Abstract

The acoustic detection technique has been applied to the bubble damage type detector produced by Chalk River Bubble Technology Industries, Canada. It has been demonstrated that bubble formation is accompanied by an acoustic signal allowing neutron detection at even high bubble density, and also direct neutron monitoring with this type of detector.
