Accumulation (incubation) process of UV photoablation on PET

Abstract

The incubation process of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) upon 337.1 nm UV radiation was investigated. It was found that the number of incubation pulses is a reciprocal square function of the fluence. Transmission measurements do not show polymer absorption changes during the incubation process. To explain the incubation curve, the percolation model is used.
