Abstract

Absorption of hydrogen in electrolytically deposited platinum layers was investigated in 1 mol/dm 3 H 2SO 4 electrolyte. It was found that the absorption characteristics of the Pt layers are determined by the parameters of Pt deposition (potential, Pt and Cl - content of platinizing solution). According to our results occlusion of hydrogen takes place in special Pt structures which are produced during platinization. Absorption - H deposition potential, absorption - H deposition time and absorption - Pt layer thickness relationships are also presented.
