Abstract

The phospha-Mannich condensation of benzaldehyde, n-propylamine, and diethyl phosphite carried out at 80°C in acetonitrile takes place via the imine (PhC=N-Pr) intermediate as suggested by in situ FT-IR spectroscopy.
