A species-specific DNA probe for the detection of Mycoplasma gallisepticum

Abstract

An 800-base-pair DNA fragment from a partial genomic library of Mycoplasma gallisepticum was selected and used as a probe for the selective detection of this avian pathogen. The specificity ad sensitivity of this probe were demonstrated by using dot blot and Southern hybridization.
