Abstract

Simple and efficient methods have been developed for the synthesis of orthogonally protected 2,5-diaminocyclohexanecarboxylic acid diastereomers via the stereocontrolled transformation of 2-benzyloxy-carbonylamino-4-cyclohexenecarboxylic acid to its iodolactone or epoxide.
