Abstract

A digital film restoration system consisting of both hardware and software components for film archives is discussed. The digital restoration processes advocate multilevel restoration and digital support files by XML description. Multilevel restoration, where image analysis and synthesis is separated and can operate at different scales. It has been found that the developed system is capable of structured data collection for future data-mining applications to increase system automation and intelligence.
