A computational model for simulating volume-emitters in arc lamps

Abstract

A numerical description of the volume-emitter density using Abel-inversion and an arc source model were presented. A 2D bitmap images of the arc plasma were combined and processed to create the arc source model. The behavior of the model composed of surface emitters as a 3D arc source by comparing the distribution of emitting points on the surface. The spectral intensity distribution measured in different region of the plasma was considered.
