Abstract

The growth of coiled carbon nanotube via reduced-pressure catalytic chemical vapor deposition was discussed. The preparation method was improved to increase the amount of spiral carbon nanotubes by varying the pH. Following the acetylene decomposition, purification technique was applied using an organic solvent mixture for the separation of catalyst particles and various carbon nanotubes. The use of an electric pH meter was suggested for better accuracy in pH during catalyst.
