Abstract

The U.S. patenting activity on the application of fullerenes was discussed. Patent productivity appeared to follow an inverse square law, similar to that of published papers. It was shown that despite some pessimistic manifestations in this respect in the current literature there were many promising approaches regarding the pragmatic aspects of this field of chemistry.
