EIN FALL VON GIGANTOPHTHALMUS. SCLERITIS OEDEMATOSA CUM ECTASIA BULBI TOTALIS

Translated title of the contribution: A case of gigantophthalmus. Scleritis oedematosa cum ectasia bulbi totalis

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

The author describes a case which in addition to gigantophthalmus showed further signs such as bilateral keratoconus posticus and anterior and posterior polar cataract. A characteristic of the disease is the extreme distension of the sclera, and expansion of the vitreous space without increase of I.O.P. Although the expression gigantophthalmus is fitting for the condition, the name 'scleritis oedematosa cum ectasia bulbi totalis' is still more fitting from the point of view of the nature of the condition and the process in the sclera.
