Abstract

In the case presented here, anus atresia and rectovaginal fistula had been proved after birth in the presently 32-year old patient, which has been surgically repaired and treated several times. Her spontaneously conceived pregnancy at the age of 23 ended with missed abortion at the 22nd gestional week. The following examination proved subseptum of the uterus, and ultimately a metroplasty was carried out. Upon further follow-up and care, applied IVF-ET technique resulted in a pregnancy, carried up to the 38th week of gestation and a full-term, alive, male newborn was delivered by caesarean section. The authors remind of the significance, thorough assessment and treatment of complex pelvic genital deformities.
