1.5 μw output two-color femtosecond optical parametric oscillator pumped by a 7.4 μw femtosecond Yb: KGW laser

Abstract

Optical parametric oscillators that cover the 1.5 to 1.9 μm range can be used for THz generation by optical rectification in GaAs [1] and as pump sources of mid-IR optical parametric oscillators [2]. We developed an optical parametric oscillator that delivers up to 1.5 μW signal output power in several wavelength regions with less than 600 fs FWHM signal pulse duration. Two-color operation due to GDD matching has been achieved, which is in particular suitable for difference frequency generation into the mid-IR and THz range.
