1-GHz repetition-rate femtosecond optical parametric oscillator

Abstract

1-GHz repetition-rate femtosecond optical parametric oscillator (OPO) was presented. The OPO was pumped by a 1-GHz Kerr-lens mode-locked Ti:sapphire laser. The signal pulses of the OPO were as short as 65 fs and tunable from 1160 nm to 1320 nm with two sets of cavity mirrors. More than 43 mW signal power was measured for 950 mW pump power and pump threshold was lowered to approximately 580 mW at 1 GHz.
